Dr. Kushi
Dr. Michio Kushi is a world renowned scientist who was nominated for the Nobel Prize. He came to the USA in 1949 after graduating from Tokyo's Faculty of Law's Graduate school and joined Columbia University's Graduate school. Dr. Kushi has devoted the last 55 years of his life to research on significant modification of the human life and global dietary pattern. The dietary culture of the ancient Greeks, Chinese and Japanese had an impact on him. He has written several books on macrobiotics and the macrobiotic diet. As such, Dr. Kushi is known as the Father of Macrobiotics. The Smithsonian Institute has opened a permanent Kushi family collection in his honor.
